Hey folks, my third party car charger its output is 17.5 volts and on the battery it states that the max charge voltage should be 17.4
The charger won't charge my battery in a car, even when the car is turned off. Is there a way I can make it still work without having to buy a new charger.
Thomas ;)

I just post this but you get it too, this 17.5 and works just fine, does yours charge with engine running,,also check your car fuse to see what the cigarette lighter output is even though it should still work

I will check it tomorrow, i'll keep you updated. I have tried it on 2 different cars. :(
Something sounds bit odd if you tryed 2 cars, does it have remote charger on same lead,,does remote charge with charger,,it could be faulty but without another to try it's hard,,might have to put one on order ....my set up involves a power inverter hard wired to car battery in which I plug into,,have you got something like this to try

Yes it has a remote charger on the same lead. I cannot use it though as it is for the P3Pro and advance, I have the P3 se
which has the cheaper remote with usb charging

17.5 vs 17.4 ... no problem.

Are you sure your car socket is working ?

Some 3rd party chargers require you to switch on P3 battery first as the charger does not act same as the DJI mains PSU charger. The charge control board defaults to prevent non standard chargers connecting. Switching on battery bypasses that and charger then works.

Many car chargers / 3rd party need to detect the battery voltage against their output on start up ... if battery is not switched on - car charger cannot detect and therefore nothing happens. The charger is not thumping 17.5V at the board which stays OFF.

Unfortunately nothing works. Even when I turn on the battery and quickly plug it in. It will simply keep flashing and turning of again. Left it charging for hours. nothing happened. My Battery has a small fracture in it because of a crash. It could be the battery? But to buy another battery is super expensive...

We are now starting to get info not given before ...

But "Even when I turn on the battery and quickly plug it in. It will simply keep flashing and turning of again. " ....

Are you doing the 'double press' to switch on ? That is press - then press and hold again for 2 secs to switch battery on ? If you turn on the battery properly - there's no need to quickly plug in charger .. you have reasonable interval to do it.

What you say describes what happens when you only press once to check charge ..

Next - you say the battery has a crack in it after a crash. Does it actually switch on by double press (press, let go, immediately press again for 2 secs, let go) ?

I know how to turn the battery on(press, let go, 2 second press). When I do it the lights go to 1 until 4 and ( the startup) and then it shows me 1 bar for about 4 seconds. Then the battery turns of again, this means that the battery is empty.

So basically the battery goes of immediately after I tried to turn it on. So it does turn on.

When I plug in the battery without pressing buttons. The first green bar starts flashing three times, and then off, three times and then off. The red button light goes on as the green bar is flashing.
I leave the battery charging for about A day but the battery won't take the charge.

When I turn on the battery (it stays on for about 4 seconds as I said) and then plug it in. The first bar seems to start flashing continuously ( also red button light continuously). After 5 minutes it goes back into the 3 times green flashing and then off. And so on.

Reckon you need to find another owner locally to try help.

My gut feeling is your crash has damaged the board in front of battery ... but without checking ... may be wrong.

I ordered another charger because I lost it but this is my car charger that should normally work. If my new charger arrives I will check it and if it is still not charging I need to buy another battery for around 60 euros (65 dollars) Is this a good price?
This is the damage on the battery + The car charger. I simply don't know if it charges with a wall charger, that's why I ordered a new one.
