Cringe: Powering on the p3 with gimbal guard still on... Damaging?

I always cringe when I power up my P3 while forgetting to remove the gimbal guard.

Does anyone know if that can cause damage?

Anything that restricts the gimbal could potentially damage it. Many people have done this though -- and, it usually does not cause any damage.

Gimbal guard. Pah. I'm run unprotected. However the p3 gets taken places in dji case. Which has soft sponge where gimbal is. [emoji6]

Have done this several times myself. No damage... yet.

Be sure to turn off the p3 before removing the guard.

You need to do a pre-flight check which includes removing the gimbal guard. There are plenty of them on this forum if you do a search
