Dji says if warranty expired then even if crash is their fault, I have to pay repair cost! Is that right?

Unless you have refresh. Yep. And do you know it was their fault?

If you've had your DJI drone for over a year and it has flown well with no failures, it is unlikely the crash was DJI's fault. Even if a sudden hardware failure, you are past the warranty. It's tough to crash your drone and assume the drone failed rather than to realize perhaps something happened and your piloting skills were not sufficient to recover. For example, many posts on loosing GPS and the pilot had never learned to fly it in ATTI mode until things went bad. Too late to learn. Perhaps if you provide more detail and the flight log, we can help you understand what went wrong.

True, but if the OP were truly interested in that the question would have been asked.

Make sure that you understand the terms on the warranty which typically will cover manufacturer's defects DURING the period of the warranty.
More importantly- make sure you understand your rights as a consumer. Manufacturer warranties can not operate to modify any statutory warrant that might apply. A good example is the reduced warranty period DJI might try to convince you applies to the camera. Nice try on that one. Who might think it’s reasonable the camera might have a shorter service life than the rest of the phantom.
