Covering landing skids with pipe lagging

Hi I am thinking about covering the bottom of my landing skids with pipe lagging. It would just cover the compass.... Would that cause a problem???
Plus it will give me an extra few mm of clearance for the Arris CM2000 gimbal

I wouldn't cover anything that could affect my flying. It's just not worth the risk. I have also have the ARRIS CM2000 gimbal and it hasn't been an issue as long as you don't land with it looking down. I would avoid adding any additional weight to the phantom. With that gimble and the HERO3, you've got quite a bit of weigh already. Just my .02 cent.
