P4 Firmware Connecting DJI Assistant to RC

SO...I screwed up the firmware update - so I installed DJI Assistant - was able to update the AC by restoring factory defaults first...but Assistant will not see my RC. When I plug the RC into the USB port Win 10 DOES install the driver for it - I can see it in the Devices list - but Assistant never shows the RC. Anyone know about this?

Well I finally got around it by starting the RC without AC on, then went into Go. On the main menu (before enter flight) you click and hold the top menu button for 10 seconds - then you'll see a way to downgrade the RC firmware. I did that. Then I started AC and rebooted RC and went into Go. When you enter flight it shows the overall status and there was an exclamation mark - I clicked that and it said RC needs update. Then I just followed instructions, rebooted and was able to connect to AC.
