I bought the extended mount for my 10.1" galaxy tab. The charge port where I need to connect the cable from the controller is in the middle of the tablet. So I can't connect the cable. Should I make the slot bigger at the bottom of the mount or drill the extended mount at the top and turn the tablet upside down?

Hmm... do you have your tablet in landscape view? I own many versions of galaxy and they are all on the "bottom" when held vertically. I dont think many fly with it vertical....
Yes it is in landscape. It would be to tall for the holder if I stood it up. The port is on the bottom or top if I put it upside down, right in the middle.
