Do you connect it via a cable or wifi?
If you don't have a cable from the controller to the phone, you would be using wifi.

Just checked the manual as I don't know the P3-4K.
Your controller uses wifi to connect to your phone or tablet.

I use a cable, there is nothing in the manual at all about connecting the Phantom 3 4K controller to the phone by wi-fi.

That's probably your problem. You need to connect via wifi - the USB socket on the controller is a dummy.

Sorry, its actually a Phantom 3 Professional, and it connects via USB........
