CNN granted part-107 waiver to fly over people

I'm not sure why some places are "reporting" this as new. This was issued to CNN in August 2016.

I was gonna post about this but I see it's already here. It just got written up in the Winter 2017 edition of my union rag (NABET-CWA) but it was about Local 41 providing training. The article had stated the approval came in early 2017. Dunno...

About the same time, this waiver got mention on the IEEE's web site, which was all sappy about the slightly different strategy in the blade cants.

Cute bird. Totally collapsible and totally protected (at least from the bottom) blades. But at 1.4 pounds, still quite capable of a concussion if it clocks someone on the noggin.
 
Oh, don't even get me started. It's not gonna be pretty. Union leadership a bunch of R fanbois, voted for a known con man who's a mortal enemy of unions. argh...
