Hello fellow humans! I'm a student of Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and a member of several of the drone clubs on campus. I am a Part 107 UAS pilot and currently have three drones; a Phantom 2 Vision+, a Phantom 4, and a Flip. I've spent the last year restoring the Vision+ (which I bought from one of my clubs) after it sat in humid Florida storage for 7 years, and it was so satisfying to see it fly after years of neglect. I obviously had to name it "Phoenix" after the mythical bird. That said, there are still a few kinks that need to be sorted out, so I came here to offer guidance to others who might be trying a similar project while also seeking advice as I continue my work.

Hi, @zlea, a while ago I restored a DJI phantom 2 vision plus to working condition. I have since sold the drone and upgraded, but I gained a lot of experience with general repair on that particular model😀 I'm sure your knowledge will come in handy on the forum. 😁

Might as well put my acquired knowledge to good use. 🙃

Yeah, I currently have no plans to sell it anytime soon. I'll probably keep it flying until I run out of available replacement parts. Then I'll probably put its electronics into a 3D printed frame.

Cool. Don't sell it, you'll regret it later😀

Hello now from the PNW i to have a Phantom 2 Vision plus and a Phantom 4 i am interested in chatting sometime. I just fored up both drones and was amazed they still flew excellence except the old Vision plus Video feed issue but i hear there is a guy in Seattle that fixes that board or i believe he is in Seattle a ferry ride for me. Anyway i have retired from Aerospace and enjoy an incredible wonderland compared to the years spent in the Arizona oven ! I have flown small aircraft and RC since the 1960’s lol old man here.

You might be able to fix the issue yourself. I plan on writing a guide/walkthrough of my Vision+ restoration and one of the first things I fixed was a video feed issue.

@Billy Clone,
Welcome to the forum.

"old Vision plus Video feed issue" ?
Is this something that worked correctly?

This was messed up on mine out of the box, it might work 2 out 10, if it did it wasn't more than 30 sec.
Long story, I sent in for warranty, had it back for about 6 weeks, just starting to getting use to how it is supposed to work, lost signal could see it with my eyes.
Did a forward, a turn etc. Turned it to the right full forward and it vanished, could hear the props across the canyon. I haven't found it yet.
