China Gimbal Variation for FC200 Camera, installation?

Hi Pacmamfever,how did you get on with your gimbal?

I haven't had time to work on it, it's been a crazy busy week with travel & my oldest son going off to college, also house-guest last weekend and this weekend.

The info JDot posted is awesome, I think we'll have no problems now. Thank God for people like him.

I got a minute.

Ok should have went like this:

RC ASSISTANT
1) calibrate both sticks, AND X1 ( dial wheel )
Power cycle, turn back on and see if setting took? If so move on to next step:

PC ASSISTANT:
1) under ( BASIC ) then under ( RC )
Calibrate both sticks, click finish, then calibrate X1, click finish. Make sure you click upgrade version, then go to

2) under ( ADVANCED ) then under ( GIMBAL )
Gimbal switch ( ON ) output frequency ( 200hz )
Max=900 ( mine is anyway )
Center=0
Min= -90
Finally GAIN ( 20.00 )
Try that, power cycle, then turn on again while still hooked to assistant to see if setting took.

Final thoughts
Which version of RC ASSISTANT, and PC ASSISTANT are you using?
I was using 3.0, and had same problem, had to use 3.8 for it to work? Don't know why? But definitely keep your assistant up to date, you'll have to go to DJI.com to find newest version, most likely!

Yeah I was scared to update after the 3.10 disaster! But was forced into 3.12 to fix 3.10 problems. I loved 3.08, I should have stayed there, oh well! Not sure what's up with 3.14? Maybe read the ( PDF ) maybe something new with 3.14 that differs from 3.12? Does your Tx work with your bird? Just not the dial-wheel?

I looked at PDF actually it looks like there is stuff in there to make gimbals easier to use, my only other idea, is.
1) re install firmware on Tx
( try that if still no go )
2) since you are already there, re install firmware 3.14 on phantom
( try this, if this does not work )
We'll have to figure something else out?

Yes it works great in the app and it works great when it's plugged into the PC with the dial-wheel[emoji5]️sorry the tx works great with my bird,if that makes sense [emoji52]

Ok I'll give it a go, but how do I re install the firmware?[emoji52]sorry

When you hook Tx to RC ASSISTANT, go under info tab, check for update under Tx, choose upgrade ( it will be existing firmware, but will reload it!
Maybe something in firmware update got corrupted? Let me know?

I bought this (eBay link below) gimbal since it had the connection cable for the headphone jack style connector on the FC200 camera. Of course there aren't any instructions, and after an afternoon of searching, I'm posting here for help, all I can find are instructions for the Chinese gimbals that require soldering for their power connectors, this one has a cable with a headphone jack female socket that appears to get power from the camera connection and power the gimbal board that way?

Does anyone know where to get the manual or installation instructions for this version?

After seeing your original post, I added the ebay post to my watchlist. Went to buy it yesterday, and it is gone. Your link is dead too, and there isn't another with the extra cable listed.

1) Did you get it to work?
2) If yes, who was the ebay seller? Maybe I can track one down from him.

Hello KenW,
Yes, there is another gimbal, but not completely plug-n-play, the power end is plug n go, but the F2 pitch control is not, requires you open the phantom, unhook stock pitch wire from naza to stock vision gimbal Servo. And replace with a wire provided, I don't have that gimbal, trying to get better pics of control pins, to see where to place the other end of the wire to the gimbal? But still waiting on pics! Pretty easy install, if you are comfortable with opening your phantom for heart surgery!

Check out picture ( 11 ).., this is the ONLY one I could find, all others are cut and solder! I'm glad I bought 2 when I could, as I'm guessing they are no longer avail? This one is close, just a bit more work to install, and I have no idea how it works? Without being able to run my own tests!

I never used mine, it's still new in the box because the following week a Vision+ with a damaged ribbon cable popped up on my local Craigslist cheap, and I fixed that.

If you'd like, I'll sell the new Gimbal with the cables for what I paid, I think it was $69 + shipping. I'd take $70 and I'll ship it via USPS Priority Mail with tracking. I'm not sure how to send messages on this forum unfortunately, I can figure out how to reply however, so message me if interested.
