My wife and I have lived 30 years + on our 5 acre property and through ice storms and hurricanes, the old land marks are long gone. Is it possible to use the land plat info then put into the drone somehow and fly a trace flight around our land?

That might be good enough for my needs, thanks.

Hi badshoe,

Wow, ice storms and hurricanes, sounds like tough country down your way.....!

If your flight planning software does not accept your land plats coordinates (which are likely to be on a coordinate projection Northings and Eastings in eg NAD27 or NAD83) directly, you will have to convert your Plat coordinates to WGS84, or possibly UTM for flight planning input.

Dave

I would probably go to your county/local GIS website and pull up you parcel of land from the Sat view and go from that. Land lines will be overlaid on the image and you can use that as your visual reference points.

Just an idea. sometimes the drone is not the best tool for the job.

Yes, it be more trouble than I need at this point, thanks guys.
