Hi guys, so I'm working on a steel boat and I wanna fly my phantom 3 adv, I haven't tried to fly yet but I'm guessing it won't let me calibrate it, can I dyl with out calibrating it?

Right -- don't attempt to calibrate the compass on the boat. You can calibrate from the shore if you must calibrate for some reason.

You are correct.
On board a steel boat would be a very bad place to calibrate the compass.
