At what point in the initial startup will I no longer need WIFI? Will I need it to install updates to software etc...? I have a Phantom pro 4+V2.0 and I hope to get in the air next week for the first time!

You only need to be connected to Wi-Fi when activating the Phantom in DJI GO. After that point, you will only need Wi-Fi again if using any features that require and Internet connection.
