Phantom 4 Pro Plus internal battery monitoring chip (fuel-gauge ic) is misreading the battery level?

My Phantom 4 Pro+ controller has been glitching on battery status for years now.
The GL300K is the controller for the Phantom 4 Pro V2.0.
The controller thinks the controller battery is depleted of charge, and the low battery beeping goes on non stop from power on to power off.
There is absolutely nothing wrong with the batteries on the controller or the drone batteries.
What in the world can I do to shut this thing up?
I've been in front of too many clients now with this annoying beeping.
I literally can't take it anymore.
Can anyone help?

Welcome to the forum!

I have some basic thoughts, have you ran the remote completely dead?
Watched what the voltage is on the battery?

I bet your reply will be duh!

Has ever not beeped?

You will get some help!

@Starz and many others know this stuff👌

Yes, I tried that yesterday, and I just ran it completely dead again this morning.
Have not recharged it yet.
Yesterday, during working on it, it did stop beeping at one point, and it was functioning normally.
However, when I drained it, charged it, and restarted it....the beeping started right back up.
It didn't use to beep. Bought it in 2017, and started beeping around 2021.

Good info!

Resetting it might stop the beeping.

Since you mentioned your r/c is from 2017.....(post #3)

I had a similar original OEM r/c battery from 2015 act stupid back in 2023. I replaced the r/c battery and things went back to normal. No beeping or recharge issues.

My 'original' OEM drone batteries from 2015-2016 are still working as they should with proper recharge schedules. But, nothing lasts forever. I guess the r/c batteries just got 'tired' sooner.

Maybe replacing the battery as @captainmilehigh suggested would help.

That's great info. If my reset doesn't work tomorrow, I'll strongly consider purchasing the r/c battery. I'm desperate at this point.

UPDATE: Nothing changed. Left it completely dead for 4 days. Charged it up, turned it on this morning, beeping started immediately. I don't know what to do.

Have you replaced the R/C battery as suggested?

Lithium Ion batteries will only stand so many discharge/charge cycles before they cause issues. Since you mentioned your R/C GL300K was from 2017, it may be time to retire that original battery.

I'll try that. I just need to find that battery. My battery is fine, it's the chip reading the battery, but I'll try this too.

Well, you have limited choices to correct this issue...........

(1) Replace the R/C battery.

(2) Replace the chip.......

(To replace a "GL300K chip," you must replace the entire mainboard of the GL300K remote controller, as the main integrated circuits are not designed for individual replacement
. This is not a beginner-level repair, and attempting to replace a single chip is not feasible for most users. )

(3) Replace the entire R/C with a new/used unit.

Are you sure it's a battery- related problem? I had an identical problem (Constant beeping), and calibrating the remote fixed it.

I can only relate to my similar issue. Constant beeping, changed battery. No issues since. Plus, my original battery was 8-9 years old....same as the OP.

Either way,....I'm out.

I tried calibrating also, but nothing happened. I'm probably going to just drill a hole in the speakers. Lol
Ok just unsolder the speaker. Lol😂
