Now that I bought the H3-3D today from B&H, so if my luck continues then DJI will release a new version soon. 
I also have a v2 shell waiting, the original shell was developing micro cracks around the the motor mounts. After 60 miles of flying the old shell has served me well.
While DJI customer service is the worst, the darn Phantom 2 flies quite well. Some parts are hard to come by and some are expensive but if this is how a communist country functions then they can have it.
