I just got the ballot for AMA Executive Vice President. I almost threw it out as I figured it doesn't effect me and I don't really care, but glad I didn't. In it is the background on the two candidates, which just happened to start reading before I was about to throw it away.
One candidate, Lawrence Tougas, thinks AMA is spending too much time, money and resources on drone issues and thinks they are bad publicity and wants to limit it how much time and money the AMA devotes to drones to only 8% of their budget and time (currently WAY more than that). His major goal is to severely limit the time, money and resources that are allocated to drones.
Randy Cameron wants to support drones, provide education for drone operators, fight restrictive legislation, and embrace new technologies.
I joined the AMA because they are pretty much the only ones who can stand up to the government over regulations. They have fought for our rights to fly drones. Lawrence wants to severely limit this, while Randy wants to support drones. If you are an AMA member please look for your ballots and vote for Randy Cameron. If Lawrence wins, our support from the AMA will diminish.
