7 or 8" inexpensive Android pad recomendation

Well title says it all, lets not go off into Ipad mini's and such want to avoid the apple landscape. Looking for no thrill's works with phantom, does not need cell, gps would be nice.

I think the answer is no, but while using it to fly, I can not connect it to my phone using my phone as mobile hotspot (right).
 
One of my favorite Android tablets is the Google Nexus 7 (2013). You can find a list of other recommended and commonly used Android tablets here.

You can connect the tablet to a hotspot while flying.
 
Galaxy tab A 7” has gps and can teather to any WiFi or hotspots. I did find that I got the WiFi interference message a lot but it didn’t affect performance and I think that warning is just a clitch on the current firmware. Very bright screen.
