Word of caution when finding HL & COMPASS on a pier!

Yesterday afternoon, Saturday January 18, 2014, was a beautiful sunny afternoon in Long Beach, California. After enjoying a great seafood lunch with the wife in the Long Beach harbor area (just across from the Queen Mary) I wanted to shoot some video and photos of this remarkable day.

I set up on the wooden pier and learned that there are many many electrical conduits running/attached directly to the underside of the wooden pier deck, had a difficult time locking in on a compass setting, I moved around the pier and finally got a good lock, man when "Ruth" took to the sky is was magic, skimming over the sight-seeing cruise boats and the old light house area with Queen Marry in the back ground, the couples and families out for a walk, was wonderful and my P2V "Ruth" performed perfectly.

I will attempt to attach a few photos and bear with me as I need to re-size these photos and I don't do this often, note the end of the pier when I am located:
