Why does my gimble and camera get so hot?

After the drone is operating a little the camera and gimble are really hot. Is that normal?

Yes it is normal. That's why we are not supposed to leave aircraft on with the props off for long. Actually main heat is generated when the gimbal motors try to stabilize the gimbal. These motors are designed to have minimum weight and high temperature windings.
