What's this about?

Just make sure you log into DJI GO once while your mobile device is connected to the Internet. After that point, you shouldn't need to login again unless you manually log out of DJI GO. If you do that, DJI GO will prompt you to login again -- which will then require your mobile device to be connected to the Internet.

Hi – The tablet I use when I fly has no Wi-Fi connection. I logged into DJI at home through my home Wi-Fi with this tablet as soon as I did the update. After that I had six or eight flights with no restrictions whatsoever. Just this past weekend, I started receiving messages telling me that my maximum distance had been reached when I was only out a few hundred feet. I have my maximum distance set to 5000 m. So something else must be going on.

It seems restarting DJI GO is the only work-around at the moment. I suspect we'll eventually see a fix applied in DJI GO.

"Confirms"?

You read this much and you are now certain it's a firmware issue?

Don't even apply for a job at my company.
Its a well known issue the updates causes bugs. If you update recklessly on software in your company then believe me... He wouldn't want to work for your company

No, it's really an unfounded paranoia.

Me pointing out that the posters statement was unfounded given the evidence that far in the thread in no way indicates that I might have a company that tends to "update recklessly". So you're fired too.

With the millions of drones sold by DJI, if even 1 percent was defective, we would see 10,000 failed units per 1,000,000. I have not seen anywhere near that number of people complaining about firmware issues or other issues.

You must understand, people that have problems, well they are going to write about them on line. People that are just having a good time, not so much. I see this in all industries, lots of complaints, but when you count the numbers, not that bad.

This is not to say that people are not having problems, they are! But not everyone is having problems, that is also true. Now what percentage of people are having problems? We have absolutely no clue. But it does seem like some people have more issues than others and that too is an unknown.

Let' just accept that you cannot fix any software or firmware without updates. Is that not true? So, if you never update, you don't get bug fixes or improvements either, but that is your choice. I have not had a problem with my P4P, it is completely up to date.

It is important that we help those who are affected with problems, but it is irresponsible to assume that all updates are evil and will brink your drone. DJI is not in the business to kill drones, they make them. Will there be problems, of course, there are with all products. Hell, a BMW is a nice expensive car, but they break, have recalls, updates and require the owners to bring them in when necessary.

No, you don't have to update, I guess, I have not tried to completely refuse to do so. BUT, are you sure that is the best thing to do. I am not completely convinced that updates, not applied in sequence or time, could cause future issues with updates. This has happened to programs many times.

So, maybe we should not recommend people not update, let them decide. If you have had issues, then of course you should tell about them. But, I think we are missing the point of updates. This business of Geo Fencing has clouded the whole scene. According to things I read from DJI, there will be a new Go 4 program update, it will take out Tinker and Cut Off Access, for another sub program that has been used by 3rd party, to gather information on apps installed on phones and tablets. This will include a Stealth mode, where you can cut all communication, no data will stream anywhere but to you. This should help to calm this down, then maybe people can begin to think about something besides someone watching what they are doing. Frankly, I could care less if someone watches, I have nothing to hide.

Roger that. Your company isn't up to my standards... what ever it is. Thank you for responding.. We'll call you if you're needed.

No, it's really an unfounded paranoia.

If you follow conversations here, in the DJI forum and other ones you will see that with the second last DJI Go4 update massive problems came along. The recent update didn't solve any of these. Lot's of people are asking how to downgrade. Anger is all over.
That is not unfounded paranoia. That's a sad fact.

There were absolutely no flight restrictions in the areas I flew in. I checked everything through airmap. Once I landed the bird, turned everything off then on again there was no issue for the duration of that flight. Obviously a software glitch, otherwise it would continued to restrict me.
DJI is like so many other companies... 90% genius, 10 % WTF?

I think the percentages are the other way around... 10% Genius and 90% WTF?

I have the same issue with my P3A. Max distance 154', max altitude 98'. But this doesn't always happen, just occasionally. I have the latest firmware and have logged out of DJI then back in again. I have powered up the quad first then the controller. I think I have tried all the suggestions I have read on this subject but it seems that it's an intermittent problem and it's just not going to go away with the firmware I have installed. Sometimes when I get the message, I bring it back home, shut everything down, start back up and it all works fine. I guess I'll just put up with it until a fix is released.

What I am guessing.... You deleted the app... But did you deleted the actual folders in your phone? (Guessing its android?)

Even if you delete the app... The folders still gets saved and they have your saved settings on there. Make sure you delete them too. Then reinstall the app. Try again mate and let us know what happened

I’ve had my phantom 4 pro plus for a year. I travel constantly all over the lower 48 and have flown it in all types of terrain and weather. Never had any major issues. Still working like it did when it came out of the crate. Just sayin...
