Hi gang-
I've flown about 9 times this week. On about half of my flights, I get a "maximum flight distance reached" at about 500 feet, when I have
The max distance set to 5000 meters. I have to bring the bird down, power everything down then restart the flight to correct the problem... any ideas? Thanks!

Honestly, I sent the AC up, reached 500', I received the message bought it back down and packed it up. I wrote it off to another firmware bug and haven't flown it since. It seems lately, I spend time working out the bugs of the AC more than I fly it..

Others have had this issue, you must sign into your DJI account over the internet to get it to work. If that doesn't fix it, uninstall and re-install the app and sign into your account, that should fix it.

There was a recent firmware change that can restrict the max distance to 50 meters (164 feet). If 164 feet was really the max you were reaching, then check out this post for more details. If you really were able to reach 500 feet, then try disabling the "Enable Max Distance" setting in DJI GO.

Me either.
As soon as DJI warned about the update I stopped my tablet from connecting to the net.
Apparently to lift the restriction you have to sign out of the app and sign back in so it can decide if you're allowed to fly in your current location.

There were absolutely no flight restrictions in the areas I flew in. I checked everything through airmap. Once I landed the bird, turned everything off then on again there was no issue for the duration of that flight. Obviously a software glitch, otherwise it would continued to restrict me.
DJI is like so many other companies... 90% genius, 10 % WTF?

The video states that you need to be logged into DJI go website to enable a unlimited distance. However, what if you don't have a Wi-Fi connection? I live in Maine and that is about 75% of everywhere!

You only need an internet connection to sign into the app - after that you can carry on as before without limits - it did say this in the instructions for the update and has been discussed here on many threads.

Should make a sticky about this issue.
Heaps of threads about it

If people can't be bothered to read even simple instructions what makes you think they will read a sticky? :D :D

I use Litchi: No restrictions... ever.... DJI go, well that's another story.

Just make sure you log into DJI GO once while your mobile device is connected to the Internet. After that point, you shouldn't need to login again unless you manually log out of DJI GO. If you do that, DJI GO will prompt you to login again -- which will then require your mobile device to be connected to the Internet.

Maybe I wasn't clear… When I did the update I did log into the DJI website, as I was told if I did not then it would be stripped my distance. I have been flying as far as I want to for a couple of weeks since I did that. However, just this past weekend I started in countering the "maximum distance reached" message.

Log out, then in again!
