Got me some shiny, new DJI goggs to go with my P4 standard in April this year. Now my eyes have dumped on me from a great height and gone very long-sighted, even specs are not much use, and corrective lenses don't seem to help much , either. Bugger, as they say . So wondered if Fatshark goggs have better corrective lens support, and even , for that matter , if they can be used with the HDMI output on my P4 Tx.? Any answers, folks? Will be selling the DJI items, new and unused 'cept for set-up time in the house , for a good saving off new ,if I can get anything to replace 'em that works . Cost me £349 ,but would let 'em go at £250 ,collected in person. Even the P4 bought two and a half years ago , for which the goggs were intended , has'nt even been out of the house ,let alone flown . Then again , there's an original ,boxed P2 from 2014 in the same status in my "den" , so you may gather I'm not a quick or impulsive mover, but still get things a bit wrong occasionally ! Ahem...................

I used both a German and Hong Kong source for prescriptions Inserts, they work great . 60 to 80 $, if I remember correctly. Online sourcing, about a two week turnaround.

Can't seem to get any results with lenses at the opticians, seems like the "sweet spot" is someplace between correction increments. Did wonder if there was any sign of a medical condition , as it seems to vary from hour to hour ,but was assured all is well there. Me eyeball is a bit of a duff shape , methinks ,as when I squint hard or put pressure on my eyelids, it goes sharp focus again . Good job these eye tests are free at my age ! Anyone use the Fatshark goggs? Or come to that , anyone use the DJI ones with 3rd party video Tx gear ,as I may sell 'em to a mate who uses other - non-DJI gear ?

I'm currently using Fatshark V3 goggles as they are only ones that come close to being of use with my crap vision. I tried the larger box type goggles but ended up with vertigo and not able to focus properly. You can get prescription inserts from a company called RHO that specialise in making up lenses for Fatshark goggles. As mentioned above, they are about $60 and take a couple of weeks turnaround. They work both with the phantom and my racing drones.

Cheers for that ,Tevek.
Do them Fatshark ones just plug into the HDMI on the DJI Tx ,as per the DJI goggs? Or failing that, will they receive the video signal from the Phantom ,thereby eliminating the cable? Sounds like the Fatshark jobbies may be the way forward, then. Had a stellar weather day yesterday ,so at the coast with my P2+ ,but the blasted wifi was'nt playing. Worked great at home this morning !!! GRRRRRRR....drone tech- you gotta love it. Or not......................

Hi there, you need to plug the fat sharks into the hdmi port on the controller. For my racing drones, it’s all’s done wirelessly which makes for a better experience. As for the less than satisfactory experience with gear not working, I had one of those days recently during the only fine weather day we’ve had in ages. Four hours on the computer updating the racing drone firmware..... There will be other days to go out and get into it.
