what is the best basic video camera settings to start out with?

what is the best basic video camera settings to start out with? I screwed around with the video and camera settings and my last video was awful. I did a camera reset and is this the best possible settings to start out with? Is there an automatic mode somewhere. I just need some basic settings to have a decent video for a noobie.

This video starts a bit basic about the settings in the Pilot app, but at 21:00 he gives a great explanation of shutter speed and frame rate for video vs. still photos including how and why and ND filter can really help smooth your video. Highly recommended!
