Weak signal at short distance?

Hello everyone,
I just got a P3 Standard.
I have gotten to fly it out to about 600 ft (about 200M ) and my RC starts to say weak signal and video becomes very choppy and then I loose signal completely and RTH takes over.
I have one of the copper antenna range extenders on it's way but I do not see that gaining me another 4000ft of travel.
I have read in other threads that apparently certain DJI GO app versions are able to allow you to fly farther. Could anyone share what version that may be?

Welcome to the Forum!
RTH is caused by the Phantom loosing signal from the remote, the app doesn't control that.

I believe that the firmware installation can make the remote defective. when it is a severe signal problem.
