Using Phantom 4 Pro Remote with Phantom 4?

I have a spare P4P remote and a P4 remote that no longer works with my P4. I tried pairing the spare remote with the P4 to no avail? Are the two compatible? (Sorry if this has been discussed but two or three searches have yet to find an answer.)

I should have mentioned that the original P4 remote will connect to the P4. It just won’t fully charge and that’s why I want to use P4P remote.

You'll be able to pair your P4P remote controller to your P4 after changing the "Remote Controller Type" to Phantom 4 in DJI GO.

Thanks. Initially, I wasn’t able to see the choice to select the P4 but today when I tried, I got a message to update the controller firmware and after that, I could choose the P4 and then link link ie AC to the RC.
