Using aftermarket Lipo's for Phantom 2

Has anyone here chosen to use aftermarket lipos to power their phantom instead of using the $160 battery that comes with it?

DSLRPros has rigged up a 2400mAH battery and the cost of those is nearly 75% of what a factory Phantom 2 battery is.

I would assume its just soldering up a different power connector to the phantom to accept a non-factory battery and making a door to keep it from falling out? Am i right in this assumption?

you can only use the DJI Phantom 2/Vision battery in the Phantom 2. The DSLRpro battery is for the Phantom 1. It is also 3 times the price of what it should cost. All they did was put their sticker on it.

I see. Well thanks for the info. Was hoping there was a way around having to pay $160 for extra batteries.
