Hello all ,

I'm new to the vision + but not to flying quadcopter .
I usually fly mine at the beach and in parks .
It's funny to see people's reactions what they say and ask ... I would like to hear what others experience .

I will start with the 2 most common
-How high does it go ?
-How much ? Over $1000 ... The sticker shock eyes
-Early Xmas toy?

How much?
Where do you get them?
How far will they go?
Do you need a license?
How easy is it to fly?
Oh, that's just your smartphone there, isn't it?
How long do the batteries last?
Can they fly over water?
Can I offer my body to you?
Can you take photos/video?
How do you land?
How big is it?
How heavy is it?
How fast will it go?
How do you fly it if you can't even see it?

What are those things called ?

The soft answer is a " A flying camera "

The political answer is a " A Drone " .....
- Oh a Drone.. Are you spying on people ?
No really I can barely figure out what I'm doing myself sometimes

I personally have sworn off the word "drone". Every news story about the idiots out there use that word. I use UAV, RPV, Quadcopter, flying camera, etc.

My 2 best were in Rocky Mountain Park.
1. Are you with the weather service? Why yes
2. Are you with the Ranger service? Why yes

I use my bird mostly for environmental projects, so whenever anyone has asked me about flying the drone I just inform them that it is being used to conduct an environmental study -- which happens to be the truth. People always seem very satisfied with that explanation.

I tell people that mine is environmentally friendly - it is an electric vehicle - recharged by power from coal, oil, nuclear or natural gas sources.

People like to engage into conversations about it specs ,cost etc.. .
Using a range figure is always good. J The price start at $19 and can go up to $19,000 if you are very serious.
I always have to politely remind them that I have to keep my eyes and focus in the sky for safety reason .

I get that one all the time too. What I do is show them the on-screen shots and ask can they see any detail, and when they say "no, but you could creep up on them", then I bring the craft in close and explain about the noise. They soon get the picture.

Apart from that;

How far does it go?
How long do the batteries last?
How high does it go
How much do they cost?
Really, that much?

Usual stuff.

CBS

All of those everyone else has listed, plus I have heard the following:

- Will it crash if it gets out too far
- Will the blades cut you if they touch you
- Have you ever crashed it
- Can you lift things up and drop them
- And the one that caught me off guard... can I use that to spy on my teenage daughter and her boyfriend.

.
