I've always thought ships are interesting and photogenic but since the P3 arrived with the range and control at distance, I'm losing interest in shooting with my Nikon and a long lens.
The Phantom lets me put the camera wherever I like and that means going to the other side of the ship when the sun is in the wrong position.
Or zipping along in front of the bow of a 300 metre vessel that is steaming along at 18 knots.
Being able to get elevation and show water all around the ship really lifts the picture way beyond what's possible from water level.
And for less than the cost of one hour's helicopter charter, the P3 is just magic.
Here are a couple of shots I grabbed last week.
