Hi dear friends,
I've found here in Italy a private seller who sell a Ph4PRO v2. He said that is a replacement of his old Ph4PRO v2 by DJI warranty, crashed and not reparable.

He furnished my the serial number and, consulting the serial check site, DJI sais that was activated on 2024-01-29.
It is very strange that on the 2024 there are PH4PRO v2 drones marked as new and used by DJI to replace a crashed ones. (impossible to find a new one or a refurbished one). There also a stick on the side of serial with the sentence MADE IN CHINA (not present on my PH4PRO).
Any experience? could be a refurbished drone? Seller says that was sent a new one from DJI in 2024....
suggestions appreciated!
Sulu.

It’s possible that DJI has a room full of products intended to be used as replacement aircraft for their customers. Probably includes other products besides the Phantom series. These replacements could be refurbished or new product and may be difficult to distinguish between the two.
Activation date and build date will be two completely different numbers. In past years, it was possible to determine build date from a serial number. Whether that’s still possible, I don’t know.

Many thanks for the explanation. Now I'm a little bit relaxed. I'll try this Ph4 next monday before purchase....

I recently sent in my Mavic 2 Enterprise (Zoom) for DJI Standard Maintenance. They found a problem with the barometer and wanted to repair for $70. They sent me a brand new drone. This drone has not been manufactured for years. DJI most likely has a stock of older drones available for various reasons.

Also be careful with out of country drones. I bought a Phantom 4 RTK controller made for the China market. It could not and would not work in North America. DJI informed me that to get it to work it needed to be sent to their service center and reflashed with a master firmware not available to laymen. I am not saying this is the case with your case, but just to keep it in mind.
