You can set it in the following section of DJI GO:

Make sure your Phantom is connected to DJI GO before attempting to change this setting.

I dont think it lets you set a alt in beginner mode

You can still set it when in beginner mode. The DJI GO app will limit you to 30 meters though since that's the limit in beginner mode. If you want to set it higher than that, you'll need to disable beginner mode.
