I am on a weekend away with the family and brought my drone to take it up and see the sites and have a play. It was dark, and I went up quite high, to around 100m but only around 300 metres out so I could see it but I wanted to show someone who stayed at the same motel about RTH. I hit the button and as soon as i put my finger on it (Litchi), it showed me a little red circle with a line across it to indicate basically that I was not allowed to do that, and a message saying "You need to be in F mode to initiate RTH. I have initiated RTH many times to test or for other reasons without an issue. Needless to say I put the switch to F mode and still got the same response, so no matter whether I had the switch on P or F mode, it would not let me do it. I just ended up bringing it back, but...

1. Why would it do that? What did I do wrong or what am I missing?
2. Do you think RTH would still have initiated on its own when signal lost (this is my settings).

I had "excellent" GPS signal the whole time

OK, I do not know the answer, but would definitely like to know, RTH is our safety net, our "Get out of jail free card", so any problems need an answer.
I fly Litchi all the time, on a P4, and have tested the RTH regularly without problem. Yes I know that is no help.
I am not familiar with the Standard /4K, do you initiate RTH from the APP, or the RC button, I always use the RC button

Not familiar with litchi. It sounds like either home point wasn't recorded or just a general problem with the app.

The Litchi app does NOT have a RTH button, that's your problem. I guess someone didn't read the manual. The "H" on your device screen is for the Home Lock feature, not RTH. When using this app the only RTH switch is on the remote, and for the P3S that's the S2 switch. And the "C" is for the Course Lock feature. See here: Help - Litchi

But that also brings me to the question, why didn't HL initiate? Why did it give me a message about the mode needs to be in F mode and when I put it in F mode it still gave me the same message. Weird. I will be playing around with that to get it sorted I think

Do you have IOC enabled via the Go app?

I would guess no at the moment. But I was using Litchi
For "F" mode to work you need to have IOC enabled, and that has to be done via the Go app first. Not every setting is in Litchi, sometimes you need to use the Go app to switch a setting that's stored in the drone's FW. Then exit and even force close the Go app before loading Litchi. Another one would be "Smart RTH" switch, it's only in the Go app. Which is good to know if your using Litchi on waypoint missions.
