Airdata UAV - Flight Data Analysis for Drones

At a buddy's house, showing him the intelligent flight modes. We're circling on point of interest, up about 150 ft. Video signal freezes and it crashes (wasn't even touching the sticks). The thing is trashed. All props broke. Gimbals hanging, probably needs new motor. Lost 2 access tabs on landing gear. I can feel a click on all the motors now when I rotate them. Housing needs upper and lower replacement. The worse part though is I have no idea what happened!

Your flight log shows a "battery error" message (not sure what this means) near the beginning of your flight. Other than that, nothing else looks out of place.

Does your Phantom still power on? If so, please get the DAT flight log from it (like this), upload it to a file sharing site (e.g. Dropbox.com), and post the download link back here.

Sure thing. Which dat? The one pulled from the aircraft (36.5mb) or the one pulled from my phone (1.76 mb)?

Here it is... I ran it through DatCon and brought the CSV into CSVView, but I really have no idea what I'm doing in there... Mainly just verifying that I wasn't touching the controls at the time.

At the end of your flight log, the motor voltage quickly goes from ~14.5V to ~7V in all motors. It seems either your battery wasn't connected or it shut off mid-flight.

How would that happen in the air? Or why might it happen?

Perhaps the battery was not fully seated or was damaged.

I suppose it could be if the battery is faulty, it's still under warranty, and you did nothing to damage it. I'm not sure how DJI would determine that.

There's some data in the .txt that might be relevant. At about 38 secs the battery cell voltages flatline. Then at 45 secs there is battery communication error is reported until the end of the flight.

Looks to me like a warranty issue. Good luck.

EDIT: At first this looked very much like the usual abrupt power loss incident. But, this made me take a look at the .txt
