What are you guys using to stick the rubber pads on the back of the remote, ive tried 3 different double sided tapes and hot glue but they eventually come off.

They are tricky if the original stuff is damaged. And if you use the wrong glue and you need to take the controller apart, what happens then? They should have just left holes in the pads so you could remove the screws without jumping through hoops!
If you use what is called an “adhesion promoter “ for plastic, then the double sided tape will work. 3M also makes a “ thin, clear sticky tape. I can get the part # for you tomorrow.
I had used hot glue as well and doesn't work. Also tried different double side tape which didn't hold. Will be happy to see what other guys use.

Try a good quality contact cement. When done right (read the instructions....twice), the stuff will hold just about anything and still allow parts to be separated, with some force (will not eat into the plastic).
