Phantom to PC connection

For the first time I tried to connect my Phantom to my notebook which is running W8, my software is V2.18...no luck. I see the 4.0 is not available. What do you recommend I try to get the PC to connect to my Phantom. I was thinking to open it up and follow the USB cable to see if the connection to the board came loose.

Did you install the drivers for the phantom? The NAZA software is 2.18, the newest firmware for the phantom is 4.00. You need the drivers from DJI's website before the phantom will be able to connect.
