Phantom reception.

Hi all,

I've noticed that my Phantoms reception isn't as good when it's pointing towards me as when it's pointing away. When I turn back from a long distance flight I loose reception and have to rely on return to home which works faultlessly. After a minute or so I regain reception. I understand this is normal.

Just wondering what the reason is for this and if anything can be done to counter it?

The P3 has 4 antennas - one in each leg.
The P2 had 2 - diagonally opposite.
The P3 is much less prone to losing signal when it is rotated.

If you haven't upgraded the antennas yet, slip on the windsurfer parabolic reflectors onto your controller antennas and that will help extend things. Takes 5 seconds to install, stores easy in a backpack, costs $25 for a nice 3D printed version. I really like mine, I bought the two piece version for easy storage. It extends the video downlink farther than the battery can handle.

Hi thanks - I have a windsurfer and yes able to go out 6.5k before latest RC upgrade. Now struggle to get past 4.5k hence the question. Any simple mods to improve the reception on the phantom itself?
