We keep in pretty close contact with DJI as we just finished making the Mavic Rain Wet Suits and from my correspondence with them, they are not even close to releasing let alone designing the Phantom 5 , all of the enginerring and man power has been spent on the Mavic 2, the enterprise and the Phantom RTK.

I guess all the video's showing the prototype are just BS? If DJI is in fact not building a new Phantom platform, I wish they would just come out and say so. Why does this have to be such a big secret?

No its not that, they are taking a page from apple and showing concept vids, and most likely getting a feeling for the crowd, as so many people want different things such as I want the camera switch out. others want occu sync. ect.
secrets need to be kept as they are reaching there peaks in what can be done.

I don't think it's BS. It's just not DJI leaking the prototypes.

Instead of VPS why not simply add side and rear (and possibly upward facing) cameras to allow full 360° FPV that can be toggled on/off in the app. I think it would definitely help in long distance flights where VLOS isn't an option to see birds etc. Would be more like being onboard a real AC and being able to look out the windows. Tbh I'm surprised this has never been done.

Thank you Pharm, for posting the link. These are the video's I've watched numerous times. I'm trusting that what I'm viewing is correct and up to date. I have the P4 a P4Pro Plus a Mavic Air and a Mavic Platinum Pro Plus with the Drone World Maxx Mod upgrade.

Note: I'm not sure I would buy again from Drone World. I have a backorderd small Drone that was part of the package. They said it was backordered two-three weeks when I purchased the Mavic Platinum November 20th, 2018. Still haven't received it. Sent several emails, however they just bounce back. Called and left voice mails, still nor response.

Do you know, or, anyone else reading this of a reputable Drone Dealer that cares? I'm considering becoming a DJI dealer and giving excellent sales and service.

I'm pretty sure DJI is only accepting new dealers that have brick and mortar stores. That was the case when I looked into this a few years ago.

If anything, any new aircraft from DJI should be announced at CES next week. I should be there so I'll be checking out their booth. But I'm really hoping for a pro version of the Autel EVO to be announced.

DJI has never released new drones at CES. They always hold their own events (Apple style).

Anything you're seeing about a Phantom 5X is a hoax (and a pretty clumsy one at that).
And anyone that gives you a date months out is not to be believed.
No-one has ever had DJI release dates months in advance.
The main source of 5X rumours has been updating their rubbish since DJI posted their Phantom X concept video in November 2015.
