Picked up a spare battery for my Buddies 3S.
Charged and placed in Drone powered up and got solid red led's.
Turned DJI GO on and it showed battery at 98% and cells at 4.24-4.26, but said not DJI battery and would not allow to fly.

Is this software or is the only choice to return for refund?

Is the battery OEM DJI or a knock-off brand? I dont use anything but DJI, sometimes other brands cause battery error messages or other problems. Take a picture of both sides of the label on it and post it up here.

Thats a generic battery, although it looks like OEM DJI. I bought one just like that, and it didnt work so I returned it. If it says "Compatible with..." it usually means its a generic battery.

Heres an OEM one, it says Phantom on the label.

Thanks, requested RMA for battery
I have 3 batteries for my P2 v2 and one is just like this one but my 2 flys with it and the DJI PC program does not say it is not one of theirs.
Thanks

Thats the problem with the generic brands, theres no consistency between them. You can get 3 good ones and 1 bad one and then you will wonder whats wrong with your drone, when its actually a battery compatibility problem. Thats why I dont use them.

I have used generic batteries for years on my RC helis, cars, trucks and boats, but those dont have software and telemetry that check the batteries.
