P4P V2 Not Saving Photos

Haven't flown my P4P V2 in several years, but had no issues with it prior. Bought a couple of new batteries, charged them, powered everything up and all good after updating firmware(as expected), but none of the +/- 30 photos I took were saved. I see others have experienced this, but I haven't seen if there was a fix?

I used the same SD card that I used to use with it and formatted it in the drone.
Hitting the shutter button, either on the remote or in the app, it acts like it's taking the photo. And the SD card LED on the drone flashes as if it's writing to the card.
Hitting the Playback button in the bottom right corner of the app - nothing there.
Plugging the SD card into my computer shows the DCIM folder, but it's empty.
In the Flight Record I can see maybe a third of the photos I took - but I am not sure how to retrieve them and it really doesn't solve the missing photos issue.
I then tested with 3 other SD cards with the drone a mere 4-5 feet away to assure a good, strong, remote signal - same results as above.

EDITED to add that I just purchased a new Sandisk Extreme Pro 64GB Micro SD Card, formatted it in the drone and it is still acting the same.

Has a fix for this been figured out?

“Several years” of storage? Is it possible that it was stored in an area that moisture could have been an issue? I’ve always thought it’s a good idea to test an aircraft prior to any update to determine how things work. Updates have their purpose but can also provide unwanted issues. Research is best.

It was stored in the original case that it came with when purchased new, in my home. I wouldn't think that humidity or dust would be a factor.

I hear you on the firmware update. I would have tested without updating, but it wouldn't let me fly without it. Maybe there was some trick or work around I could've done, not sure.

And how do I determine if the SD card slot is working as it should? Below is what it does when I try to take a photo;

1. The LED indicator by the SD slot is lit steady green.
2. When I hit the shutter button, the LED blinks once, stays on for about a second and then quick flashes green for about 4-5 seconds. It then goes back to solid green. While the LED is flashing, the shutter button indicator on the DJI GO app is spinning, not allowing another photo to be taken until it stops.

Yes, all 3 cards that I tried were formatted in the drone.

EDITED my original post to add that I just purchased a new Sandisk Extreme Pro 64GB Micro SD Card, formatted it in the drone and it is still acting the same. From what I can tell, that is the most recommended SD card for the P4P line, so I think I can certainly rule out bad SD cards.

A couple of questions. Do recorded videos show up on the card? If you set "Cache video when recording" in the DJI Go 4 app, can you call the video up and review it? Even if the problem isn't the card itself (which it obviously isn't at this point), you would think the drone would throw a missing SD card error if the slot wasn't working. If you can review the cached videos, then the slot must be somewhat working. I'm not an electronics expert, so maybe someone with electronics expertise could make a suggestion here, but I'm wondering if there is any way to clean off the contacts inside of that narrow slot. Rather than spray electronic cleaner into the slot (which sounds like it would be a very bad thing to do), maybe spray some cleaner onto the SD card contacts and slide it in and out of the slot a few times?

That is a usable option, but it is best to spray onto a swab and use that to dab onto the card contacts. Be sure you use a “plastic safe” electrical contact cleaner like this.

What you suggested has worked on other camera card slots, so worth trying.
