P4P+ remote - THIRD PARTY APPS. Big news out today!!

... I bricked gl300e ...
Without admitting anything, you are not the first. There are some common root exploits that will not only fail but will brick the unit, DAMHIK. Anyone experimenting in his area is definitely proceeding at their own peril.

Not this procedure this is nothing I rooted p4p+ controller (gl300e) and changed something that is disabled DJI apps.
Then when I am changing something for prepare custom rom. It's gone. Not boot again.
I mean installing apps with adb is nothing. It won't brick your tablet.
So, does this procedure bricks the FG300E of the Pro+?

Hi guys
I have bad news.
I rooted gl300e and flashed stock rom for see is it flashable. It was succesfull. Then I found some ways to block DJI apps, installing other apps without adb and showing hidden settings in settings menu.
Then of these I think so I can prepare a guide for you guys. But when I am try to turn back without flashing stock firmware I bricked gl300e. Now pc is not see anything when I am connect it.(in MASKROM mode too :( )
So, story ends on this line. Goodbye guys.
Did you follow the guide here? And you bricked the Pro+ remote?

I think there's some miscommunication here and two different things are being discussed. If you use only the adb sideload method to install apps (as outlined in the OP) then I don't think you're in danger of damaging anything, but then again that method hasn't really proved effective as yet in getting 3rd party apps running reliably, even if they can be installed. The better method would be to root the unit and thus not have to employ all the workarounds, but attempts at rooting can be destructive.

This is a clear explanation.

So i have been trying for HOURS to install anything of worth on here and this is the result:
You can use kingroot to root the device after turning on developer mode like you do with any android device.

You cannot install google play and have it work due to the restrictions on the device.
You can install any app such as DroneDeploy or Pix4D but because the controller does not host the drone the same way a normal controller does, it wont connect and as such will not actually work.
Aside from that normal apps work, youtube, facebook etc, but what use are those really?
soo all in all dji strikes again!

What I fear is that CrystalSky devices, when released, will have the same restrictions. As cool as CrystalSky might be, this limitation of a being incompatible with 3rd party apps will be a show stopper for most serious drones enthusiasts.

I agree. Same worry here. I am totally ready to plunk down the money for a CrystalSky but will not do so if they won't allow the installation of third-party apps. I use Autopilot and this would be a show stopper for me. My understanding is that at release it is locked down just like the P4P+ display. DJI is shooting themselves in the foot here. I really wish Apple would just release an iPad with a display over 1000 nits. Won't happen, but a guy can dream.....

They won't, that's already been confirmed by DJI on the CrystalSky FAQ page.

what is the fecking point then i wounder as the only people who will buy their product is those who have not realized the downfalls.

I am coming back. I bought new GL300E last week. I'm waiting for delivery now.
And I thought too much about litchi. Then I found why litchi did not see the aircraft.
Root is not solution because litchi looking for usb device. Or original DJI GO 4 APP too looking for usb device.
But the application that is installed in the GL300E can be looking for I2C,SPI or UART.
That's mean we need to unpack GL300E DJI GO APP's apk. And then look for how to communicate with remote.
That will be hard.

I am giving up on trying to get access to the data feed from the RC.

Does anyone know a quick way to erase my GL300E and restore all apps/settings back to factory defaults?

I want to sell/trade my GL300E for a GL300F so I can run Litchi and use developer resources.

Ill trade my F for your E.

Hi, you can restore your tablet.
connect to computer and open adb, write "adb reboot recovery"
tablet will reboot in recovery mode
you can wipe your data on recovery page

or just open settings on your tablet and enter to "Backup & Reset" menu and click to "Factory data reset"
