When P3 starts the camera swirls as normal then after about 30 sec slumps and points down. No camera or camera control. RC shows Gimbal disconnected. Tried controller reset button (no go)

I had the same message on my P3P, fixed when I updated the firmware. Is the light on your gimbal flashing red and green?
Same thing happened on my P3A. Couldn't do firmware update to try to fix it because the SD card is in the camera and it shuts down so the bird can't see the uSD card. Ended up having to send it in for a lengthy (but under warranty) repair at DJI.

Power off the drone, remove the sd card, power it back on then plug the sd card back in. If it does not recognize the card, then reformat the card using the app.
I had the very same issue. I reformatted the SD card with the firmware and it cleared it up. It came out of nowhere and freaked me out also.
