Where I lay my head is home.
I just saw a ad for a P4 that’s missing the charger I have a P3 is the P3 charger compatible with the P4 batteries? The seller says he doesn’t know it’s the only drone he has ever had! Ow that I think about it, it’s probably stolen why would he not have a charger? The real owner was probably out somewhere and it got snatched the RC and AC, I’m still gonna check it out. If I can figure out it’s probably stolen I will post here where this guy is and see if anyone had a P4 stolen in that area, is there a section of the forum for possible found stolen drones?

Can you tell what model P4 this is by the photo? He hasn’t responded to me about the exact model either that’s why I suspect something might be wrong,

It's the Phantom 4.

Yes.

It really depends on the condition. A new P4 currently sells for about $800.

If it's stolen, then you probably don't even want to buy it for $100.

Ask the seller for a copy of their sales receipt. You'll want that anyhow (for warranty purposes) if it was purchased from DJI or an authorized DJI dealer and it's less than 1 year old.

Will do, I’m starting to think it’s definitely stolen he reposted it several times from what I can see and at that price I think it would have sold by now it might not even be a legitimate listing?

Like they say if it's too good to be true, it's probably not.

Ask him questions on the phone if possible, such as:
1. How many charges are on the battery? (this is easy to see in the app. DJI owners know that)
2. What version firmware is in the craft? (again, DJI owners know how to see the firmware rev#)
3. What kind of range will it fly? (A stock craft/radio can get about 1mi, not the 3mi that DJI claims)
4. How did you lose the charger?
5. Has it ever been crashed?
6. Is any standard functionality of the drone not working properly?
7. What tablet comes with the controller? (that's a trick question, it shouldn't include a tablet, but if it's stolen he likely got a tablet in the backpack)

If he's the owner he'll have answers to most of these.

It's possible he legitimately lost the charger, like leaving it in a hotel room on vacation in Cancun, etc. It's possible, but unlikely.

The guys a hunting nut if his profile is real so maybe he was using it for scouting ? I know that’s illegal in a lot of places so anything is possible I’m still waiting on a reply. Well see how it works out.

In that case a bear could have eaten the charger :p

True lol. It looks like he hunts ducks maybe he was trying to scare them into the air? Who knows that’s definitely illegal! Maybe the Game warden was on his tail and he left the charger in his Blind? Just speculation but something is definitely off about the ad. But there’s a lot of people on D
Facebook that obviously can’t read and only look at the photos! I have a Ad that starts In all caps “Wanted Crashed/Damaged Dji Drones” and all I get are Is it still for sale? Not one person read the header LOL and computers are supposed to help people become smarter?
