I think he used a butter knife, something with a flat flexible blade. Don't quote me on that but the detail is in that huge thread if my memory is correct.

The tool to remove the screws is indeed a small Allen wrench,
apparently 1.5mm, I believe. Is that what you wanted to know?

Yes, 1.5mm hex driver or allen wrench for the range extender, 2.0mm hex driver or allen wrench for the hex screws on the Phantom body and motors.
