Purchased a phantom 3pro used . Had battery issues. Installed new DJI battery. Turn remote on turned drone on turned DJI go app . Then calibrate compass fired motor up . App wanted to update!!! Ran the update now I own a a blinking brick .

Is there a good diagnostic guide out there ?

Which update did you run? How exactly did you run it? Feel free to be as detailed as possible in your response.

. App wanted to update!!!

An app update wont brick the drone, if its android you can download the earlier app from apkmirror etc then just sideload it

Was it a 'firmware update' or a GoApp update?

As @crash1sttime mentioned, an 'app' update won't brick the drone, but it may have compatibility issues with the drones firmware version.

However, firmware updates have been known to cause major issues, and should be avoided.

As noted, updates are never required for a properly working drone and can cause more problems than they fix. Take the advice to downgrade the firmware to the original or other recommended ones. Good luck

Thanks everyone brand new SD card was causing issues. Replaced SD card then was able to update firmware to latest firmware. Flying now !!!! But having video transmission to app issues. Can take pictures and video and view from SD card but not on app???

Guess I should have remembered that glitch, anyway, glad you're half way there. I'm done with the P3 series so hopefully one of the other old timers can solve your current delema. GL
