Battery doesn't charge - and I'm a newbie

Hello everyone!

In my college, I got a Phantom 3 Pro to shoot stuff with but the prof who used to run it left an year ago. I've been tasked with getting it back running.

I have the original box - and the charger. I got the charging brick which has both wires from the same brick - one barrel jack for the remote, one for the drone battery.

Now, I think the remote is charging (I only checked today, and it constantly blinks as of now).

The battery though, which I've been trying for the last day, doesn't seem to be. When I connect it, this is what I observed:
- the red LED on the battery turns on and one of the 4 green LEDs blinks (for 2 seconds)
- turns off for 4 seconds
- repeats.

i put it for charge for around 8 hrs yesterday, and it didn't change the blinking pattern. What can I do/check?

The college department had it and it had last flown over an year ago. As I mentioned, there's no one else who knew anything about it, so I kinda have to piece it together myself.
