Negative Altitude???

I want to fly my phantom off a bluff and fly below the altitude that I took off from, but I'm not for sure what or if anything weird will happen? Will it show it as a negative altitude?

Wherever you take off from is zero altitude. Lower is negative, higher is positive.
Nothing weird will happen unless you make it.
