need some clarification on uk drones

I've been looking at the specs on the p3s and it is set to 500m yet you can purchase drones which have a range of 2km but what is the point if there restrictions limit to 500m?

Technically you need to remain VLOS but its all about retaining a strong control and video/telemetry signal that many people are looking for regardless of distance. I can fly way beyond 2klms but in standard trim used to struggle flying beyond 400-500mtrs due to the interference from the 1 billion trees surrounding my property.
