Take a closer look at the posts you're referencing. Neither state the warranty/insurance will definitely be forfeited if using a 3rd party app like Litchi.

Never said definitely forfeited, but if the conditions are there it is a possibility, it just gives DJI another easy out if your not using the DJI Go4 app

As Meta4 said learn DJI GO 4, read the manual ,watch all the videos, and make sure you understand RTH and fly in wide open spaces, not your backyard.

I guess it's a trade off, fly with Litchi and have less chance of a flyway or use DJI Go4 with more chance of a fly away

Neither app increases your probability of a "flyaway".
Not understanding what you need to about how your Phantom works is what increases your chance of a "flyaway" regardless of what app you use.
