Mov file vs MP4 ?...P4 Pro

Hi everybody, i am sure this has been discussed before. What file format do you guys use for videos mov or MP4?
The reason i ask is i can't see much difference between the two, also mpeg 4 will not play on my ipad but mov will.

There is no difference in the image quality.
.mov is originally an Apple native file format and mp4 is for PCs but decent software will work with either.
Use whichever works for you

Mov is not a codec. Mov is a wrapper for the content inside. They both are MP4 h.264 (unless 265). On a Mac? Use mov. Otherwise use MP4 although the mac will read either.
