Led lights dont work

Ok so I bought this round light (10-12 led's in a circle) so I could fly at night but cant get it to work. As fas as I can tell it just sits over the 2 meyal tongs that fit into the battery. Very simple 2 wire design but it wont light up. Am I missing something?

those lights don't work very good sounds like the slip over is not making a good connection some of those ones just don't want to work that is why I had a buddy of mine solder a connection for better contact with lights

Yeah I thought about that as well and Im about to run a test first to make sure it works before i go to soldering in on.
