Launching and landing from a yacht.

Hi,

I am a videographer doing a wedding. I have my remote pilot certificate and I have never launched or landed from a moving vessel. The wedding is going to be on a yaht. I would greatly appreciate any advice. I'm am aware to launch from the aft unobstructed and set the controller to home point. Thanks

You'll need to keep resetting the home point as the yacht moves. The home point does not automatically update.

I did it. Very difficult. You would need to be flying forward at the same speed as the yacht and land at the same time.
I even had our captain slow down for me but between the wind and always moving I had my wife hand catch the drone.
At anchor is a different story and no problem

We've shot from boats and always hand launch & catch and if the boat can slow it helps a LOT... even better if they can stop for the few moments it takes to launch & catch. Just be careful and practice on LAND long before you go LIVE on the boat.
